The year is off to an unfortunate start. Today, while driving back from the DIY store, a young woman on her bike crashed into my car. Thankfully, she doesn’t seem to be seriously hurt, but has to stay in hospital for observation overnight because she hit her head quite hard on the ground. It was an unbelievable situation: she was riding towards me, and looked like she would turn in front of me. She obviously hadn’t noticed me, so I stopped fast – thankfully, there was no other car close behind. Once stopped, I just had time to realise that she still hadn’t seen me (how??), and wasn’t turning! She rode straight into my car. Utterly inexplicable!
